It is often not within our power to determine what we will find. But we can choose to search. The search looks both, backward striving for understanding and forward hoping for something new. This search can only succeed if we are honestly willing to acknowledge what is. This may be the moment when you decide to pursue couples counseling or individual psychotherapy. By taking this step you become an active participant and show that you are taking good care of yourself honoring your partnership and taking responsibility for your journey. Nothing touches us as deeply as love for ourselves and love for another person. The internal and external boundaries we inevitably encounter can hurt us and simultaneously challenge the way we deal with them. Only you can decide which growth you are open to and which needs and improvements you want to implement in the present. The search can be painful surprising and enriching. It will also partially escape our need for control. But as long as the direction is right it is worth it.
